some people approach their careers as a checklist: waiting on orders, doing what they’re told, and expecting a 3% raise year-over-year.

i took that certification. i completed all my required training for the year. i finished all my tasking. i got that graduate degree.

others approach their careers with a greater intent. they create their own agenda, build their own tools to apply their craft better, and focus on solving problems people don’t know they have yet.
