dr. martin luther king jr. was as authentic as they come. he lived in a time and place where it was very difficult to stand up and be your own person, but—as a black man in the south—he did it anyway. there was never a time when you didn’t know what he was thinking or what he was fighting for, and people followed him. boy, did they ever follow him.

on this day we set aside to commemorate his birth and remarkable life, it’s a great time to reflect on how you are living your own life. are you being authentic, or do you shift shapes to fit in depending on the situation? do you hold true to who you are and the values you believe in, even when it’s difficult?

people follow authenticity. do you have it?
