i never understood the “i don’t have time for ___” response when you ask someone if they listen to podcasts, or read business books, or watch ted talks, or watch lectures on coursera.

every day you either get better, or you get worse. if you’re spending all your time doing your day-to-day work and forego time to improve yourself, you’re getting worse because other people are putting in the time to learn new things and improve. and if you literally don’t have time in the day to spend on that self-improvement, perhaps you need to have a conversation with your manager about lessening your responsibilities, or adding a new hire to the team to take some of the load off of you.

or it means you waste a little less time watching america’s got the next voice home makeover race at night in front of the television.

every day you get better or you get worse. what’s your goal for today?
