fans of the television series game of thrones may recall that particular quote from petyr baelish during a conversation about his ambition for the throne.

it’s a claim which has some truth to it.

apple, amazon, netflix, uber… they all disrupted markets—turned them on their ear—and emerged as the clear leader in their spaces. they injected chaos into the marketplace and then climbed to the top.

iterative innovation is perfectly fine†. however, there’s still plenty of room for disruptive innovation in our marketplaces. there’s still plenty of chaos ahead.
